Five Generations are Represented in This Milton Family
Not often is it possible to chronicle what is set forth in the illustration herewith – five generations in one family, and each and every one of the five active and enjoying good health. Quite frequently there are found in one family representatives of four generations, but not often are five represented.
The family pictures above is that of Mrs. Lucinda VERNON, a matron of Milton who, at 85 years of age, is active, spry and in full possession of all of her faculties. She stands at the left of the illustration holding one end of the saw. At the other end of the saw is Mrs. VERNON’s daughter, Mrs. Jane NEAL of Dayton. Seated on the log in the middle of the picture is Mrs. NEAL’s daughter, Mrs. May HUNTER of Weston, and standing behind Grandmother VERNON and to the right of Mrs. HUNTER is Mrs. HUNTER’s daughter, Mrs. Laura BASBINDER, also of Weston.
The youngest member of the family Baby Josephine BASBINDER, is easily located. Thus we see that Mrs. VERNON is mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. The picture from which the above illustration was made was taken Feb. 1.
Other immediate relatives of Mrs. VERNON are a son, George VERNON, and a daughter, Mrs. Wm McCARDLE, both of Milton.
Please note: I know nothing further of this family - I thought the article was interesting so I copied it for posting. I do have a photocopy of the photo that this article refers to if you would like a copy. Though it's dark and a photocopy, you can make out some of the features of the women included.
