Two Die in Wreck on Oregon Trail Highway

Guy Clayton, aged 49, and his niece, Aurene Clayton, aged 12 years, both of Echo, met almost instant death Saturday evening on the old Oregon Trail at the eastern edge of Rieth When the Clayton car left the road and went over the bluff, landing on the jagged rocks below. Three other girls suffered injuries. The party was on the way to Pendleton to attend a show. It is believed that Mr. Clayton was blinded by the lights of a passing car, causing him to lose control.
