Does anyone know the status of the old records of the above facility that I
understand are in the basement of the Kansas Youth facility in Atchison?

Several years ago I was told that all the old orphanage records were in the
basement, not filed, just in boxes and drawers and they didn't have enough
money to have someone work on preserving them. And they wouldn't let outside
researchers in because it was still a State facility. What a shame!

Just wondered if anyone else had tried to use the records and the status of
them are now.
