Hello Listers

It is with regret, that due to the pressure of work, I am looking for someone to take over the ORPHANAGES list from me, I can not devote as much time as I need to, the situation will get worse, until well after Xmas, so I have made a very hard decision, to put the list up for adoption, I will help out when I can, and any research I have undertaken will be completed, but please bear with me, I would ask everyone to re-post their queries to the list again.

I was hoping when I first set up ORPHANAGES, that the list would become very active, and everyone could help each other, very similar to the Workhouse and Hospital list that Jan runs, a very active and informative list, and the BHC that Perry Snow runs, but for some reason it has not worked out that way, so maybe someone with new ideas and another approach may well spark the list into life, I hope so, it would be sad to see the list go completely, there has been a lot of hard work gone into this list to let it close. I have also met so many people who are all looking for ORPHANS, so many sad stories so much ill treatment of our ancestors, it is enough to break your heart, I wish you all well and Good luck in your research, dont give up the search, our ancestors deserve to be found, not left in obscurity, so keep searching, they are out there somewhere, waiting to be found, they at least deserve our time and devotion, in finding them and putting them in the Family tree, remember, the pain they went through, we owe it to them.

I will also post a similar message to the Workhouse list, and I will inform you, who if anyone comes forward to take over ORPHANAGES, you dont need any special qualities to run the list, other than time and care these are the main qualities, I will help out with any problems you have, you can E-Mail me at any time..

In closing I wish you all the very best, Good luck with your research, and health and happiness to you all..

All the very best Jack
