Dave,

I have a Francis O'Leary who was born on July 27, 1870 near Colgan, Simcoe
County, Ontario to John O'Leary and Catherine Hughes. The only other
notation I have on him is that he died out West (circa 1918). There is no
marriage notation but the researchers would not have been looking too much
farther then the area around Simcoe County ... I inherited the O'Leary
research from my husband's Aunt Ruth so I cannot vouch for total accuracy.

The County marriage registrations for Ontario can be borrowed from the
Ontario Archives or through your local LDS. The registrations would have
information on the parents names, place of birth, place of residence, age.

You can also search the 1871 Ontario Census Index on the National Archives
website. They will send you copies but I cannot remember the price per
page...
http://www.archives.ca search for Textual Documents under record type ...
Then look for the index. Make sure you either enter the last name only or
first name and then last name. The search engine does not like last name,
first name!! Be sure to ask for MAX number of records returned near the
bottom of the search box.

Let me know how you make out.
Diane Sheppard (husband's grandma was the O'Leary)
