Dear Roy,

More bits. I recalled this am I came across the meaning of the name Gilman
many years ago, unable to trace it in my refs but vaguely recall possibly
something to do with a trader or craftsman. Arh! Might be Germanic from
Gilde, belonging to, member of a Guild. Nederlands has the same, Gild(e),
corporation, craft; (in the City) City (of; livery) company.

Regards,

Mikey.
