Hello all,
Would anyone care to comment please on a thought that the Christian name
Mossendieu maybe a compound of latin & french as; mos/s'en/dieu, meaning:
By will, behold [one] from God.
or
By pleasure, behold [one] from God.
I have been puzzling over this for some weeks and many people have kindly
posted a variety of suggestions.
However knowing, one might say, how a earlier members of my family were
likely to have thought, finally gave me the above idea!
Thanks in advance.
Yours,
Mikey.
