Word lover that I am, my greatest wish is to have my own copy of the CD
version of the OED, but I was stopped by the price in the neighborhood of
$700-$800 that I was given when the CD version arrived at our university
library. If the price has come down to the vicinity of $100, that takes it
out of the realm of the impossible. Maybe I can get my children and
grandchildren to go in together on an investment to keep me busy. I'll
check with Amazon.com with my fingers crossed.

My unabridged American Heritage Dictionary, bought for $5 on a special
book-club offer back around 1970, is about worn out and in need of an
upgrade.
