Besides what has been said already, it's probably worth contacting the
record office, London Metropolitan or whereever it is, to find out if there
are any other listings for the period which mention, or might mention,
occupations. Sometimes, if you are lucky, you can find a local tax record or
some other variety of list which includes occupations. Sheer luck of course.
