I am researching the family of Cornelius W. Doty and Elizabeth Plass Doty who
moved to Auburn, NY from Dutchess County sometime between 1860 and 1870.
They had about 10 children including my great grandmother, Mary E. Doty who
married Dwight C. Bishop from Henderson, Jefferson County, NY and later,
Grand Rapids, MI. They divorced by 1880 with Dwight returning to MI and Mary
continuing to reside with her parents in Auburn. My grandfather, William
Albert Bishop, the only child of that marriage, lived in Auburn and
Amsterdam, NY until 1920. He married my grandmother, Augusta Franzel in 1895
and she bore my father, Clifford E. Bishop, in 1895. William and Augusta
divorced in 1910 with him moving to California and her marrying Edgar
Southgate in 1911. Any help from anyone researching anyone in this line,
especially the Doty's, would be appreciated. Thanks.
