I have one bit of information ... I have a red & white homespun I found in
our attic which my sister-in-law identified from Architectural Digest or
one of those magazines as having been made by Auburn Prison inmates in ca.
1849. It is quite large, enough for a double bed, quite beautiful in
design. If you find out more about this industry, I'd be interested.
