I was advised to contact you as to how I would be able to acquiire the
Guardianship papers foor my ggrandfather, Phillip CHAPIN b. 1826 and adopted
at the age of 8 by Corydon Phelps.
I have Phillip' s Surrogate papers, his marriage and Sarah BLAUVELT's
marriage certificate, his Civil War papers, a picture of his tombstone and
nowhere are his parents listed.
I would like to have the Guardianship papers. Please advise me as to how to
acquire them.
My grandmother was his daughter, Carrie who married John HALL They moved to
Detroit where they spent their remaining years.Their son, Frederick was my
father.
