My mother's maiden name was REESE. Her parents were Charles Reese and Ethel Wilmarth. Her brother was Smith James Reese and they were both born in Ledyard, Cayuga, New York. My mother was born in 1921 and her brother came along in 1923. I only know what my mother has been able to remember, which hasn't been a lot.
My uncle, Smith James Reese was in the U.S. Army during W.W.II and participated in the D-Day invasion of Omaha Beach. I recently received a piece of paper telling me where he was buried once his body was returned from France after he was killed in action on September 9, 1944. He was 10 days short of his 21st birthday.
I am trying to find out any information at all about any of these family members. I am hoping someone out there can help me with some information.
