Tootsie and All,
Thanks for reminding me of the blackouts. I had completely forgotten them . Remember how the whistle blew to remind us to "blackout'? It was very spooky but my family took it very serious. They took everything about the war serious and did what they could here at home to help in the war effort.
I wonder how many of us are left that choke up when The National Anthem is played. Not many I fear. If all the flag burners had fought like our men did for Old Glory they wouldn't be so quick to burn it or spit on it.They should all have that opportunity.
I agree with you that we are losing our freedoms slowly but surely. Wish some miracle would happen to stop that.
I am proud to be a member of a generation that has pride in our country and our flag. I don't know of a more patriotic generation but am sure the earlier ones were too.. What happened after that I can't say for sure.
On a lighter note, do you remember the man that came around and took pictures of the kids on his little pony? He furnished the hat, bandana and other assessories and of course the pony. That is my favorite picture of myself. I was probably seven.
Midge
