Hello,
Yes, this list is very quiet. It is also small.
I am wondering if any of the rest of you grew up without indoor
plumbing. Our step up in the new world was that we had an electric pump
on our well pump. We still had to carry it in by the pail. Since we
battled the Minnesota winters, we also had to unfreeze the whole thing in
the winter. This was accomplished by very hot water...dumping it on.
That now doesn't sound very good for the pump, but it somehow survived.
It had two big interlocking wheels that turned and I think that is
actually where we poured the water...to try to unlock them because they
were frozen together and would not turn (pump). This is not one of those
"fond" memories for me as it was cold and miserable out there struggling
to get water. Mary
