Hi, Sharon:

Oh, yes, GILLMER is a variant, as are GILMOR, GILMER, GILMOUR, GILMOURE,
etc. I've found them all in my own family and -often- two or more
variants applied to the same person, haha!!

I'm not really light-years ahead, persistent, maybe :-). Actually, I've
had good, but limited, success with my GILMORE research. I say "good"
because I'm very lucky to have found my great-grandmother's immediate
family and parents in the Drumcree parish church records. However,
given the common-ness of the name, I've had difficulty linking my Moses
and Matthew GILMOREs with their brothers, uncles, etc.

Moses GILMORE lived in Druminally-Duff townland; Matthew lived in
Corbrackey townland. Moses' wife, Mary, was a JONES from Corbrackey.
They all knew each other, the kids stayed over at each others' homes
(and with their FLAVELL cousins, too, my other research interest), and
so on.

So, my big question would be: are your GILLMER, etc. entries from
Drumcree Parish?

Thanks so much for pointing this out!

Alison
