Searching for:

ROBERT L. COUGHLIN, Pvt., U.S. Marines, 1946 on board the USS HERMITAGE with
my brother, OTIS MCKINLEY UNDERWOOD. Assuming they were about the same age,
Mr. Coughlin would have been born mid- to late-1920s. The ship left New
York for Guam, picked up soldiers returning home, took them to San
Francisco.

A check of SSDI found two gentlemen in the approximate age range named
Robert L. Coughlin (and many, many with just the name Robert Coughlin), but
we have no idea where Mr. Coughlin was from so don't want to assume he's
passed away. About 150 Robert Coughlins with telephone numbers...guess I
could contact all of them.

But this is worth a try, yes?
