Hi Gloria:
[NEWGEN] Name spellings

I just have to comment here too Gloria, NAMES can be so deceiving.
The name of Carlill/Carlisle has 29 spellings in Yks, England alone!!!

So I hope that those who are starting out will take notes and think
of ways that many letters can get changed in the mind of the
not-too-literate writer. Y/J, G/K, C/K, B/P.

My maiden name of Conklin has all sorts of spellings with G's and E's
on the end and multiple others.

One very misleading problem that I had personally was the name of HUTTY.
In a most accidental situation I realized that it was sometimes spelled
UTTY. I forget that the 'haitches' were added or taken away at will by
the English tongue. So if it is the first letter of a name,
the IGI could have you looking in the wrong area entirely.

Regards to everyone,
