HI; Myrtle Beach has several branches of Horry County Library and one
privately endowed Chapin Library. Chapin Library has the best genealogy
section. Most of the branches of Horry County have about one shelf-mainly
South Carolina families. I have not been to the main branch which is in
Conway. Georgetown, SC , 25 miles from Myrtle Beach has an excellent supply
of southern material and as the area dates back before the Revolution, has
a large supply of historical material.
Chapin Library has helped genealogists-they have a good supply of computers
and will get interlibrary loan materials.
Naturally, there is quite a large supply of Confederate material available
in the librares.
AS far as material for England, NY State-no.
There is a LDS FHS branch here. Very hlpful but small and only open about
12 hours a week.
