Looking for information on g-gmother ARTHEMISE PATRY and her husband
g-gfather LOUIS COTE. I have no information on their births,
marriage, deaths, parents.

Does anyone have information on who I would contact in Lac Bouchette,
Canada as that is the last know information we have.

She refers to herself as Arthemise PATRY widow of LOUIS COTE and signs
as Arthemise Patry. Was this typical to use her maiden name and not
her married name? It seemed unusual to me.

It is from an affidavit she signed in August of 1926 at Lac
Bouchette, Canada. She stated "that I am the mother of Leon Cote,
photographer, residing at Chicoutimi, Quebec, and a member of the St.
Joseph Union of Canada, holding their policy #____. "

What is the St. Joseph Union of Canada? and insurance company?

I have no information regarding her death or that of her husband LOUIS
COTE. She states that she is his widow.

The purpose of the affidavit, I believe, was to prove my gfather's
(CHARLES LEON COTE) US citizenship. He came to the US with his wife
EMELIE VOYER ROY and their children, one of whom was my mother,
shortly after that time.

Affidavit states Charles Leon COTE was born in Chicago, IL December
20, 1878 and that she "has made fruitless research to locate his birth
certificate."

1880 census shows KOUTI, Louis, Annie - wife and sons Louis Jr, Alfred
and Leo (age 1, born in Illinois)

TIA for any info.

Joni
