Hi, List and Uncle Bill!!
I have thought and though about my most unusual research experience, and
finally came up with it!!
Everyday at work, I butt smack up against indifference or "I don't have time"
when I try to get things done correctly. (That's what Quality Engineers do).
On the highway, very few have any compassion for fellow motorists; not
allowing them to change lanes, not stopping back far enough to let them out
of a drive or side street.
In the grocery, other shoppers will run you over in the parking lot or in the
store with their carts. Clerks don't make eye contact-just ring up your
items-and heaven forbid if you ask the price or pick something up not marked.
You will not only get their disdain, but look at the shoppers in line behind
you-you are not their favorite person either!
What I'm saying is that in this society full of self-serving, rude people,
the genealogy community is a very unusual experience!! I have so many people
willing to make trips to court houses, History Centers, and pore over old
documents - and all for the joy of helping others!! This list is the PREMIER
example of that type of wonderful, caring and giving persons willing to give
the time and effort to total strangers.
MOST UNUSUAL!!!!!
Love to all my cyber family!!!!! Linda in Lucas, Ohio
