Part of the HAVNAR family is the ZOBEL family. Seemingly 3/4 of them are
still in Box Butte County, Nebraska. Again this is a small rural county.
Major population center: Alliance, Nebraska

I was fortunate to be referred to a woman who works for the local museum
that had a lot of access to various stuff in the county, obituaries,
publications, by the local genealogical society, etc.

Making my usually long stories shorter ..... I initially contacted her
prior to Christmas - bad time - anyway after New Years she started in
looking up my folks - I had initially identified more than 30 Box Butte
County connections - she found more -

She sent me copies of obits, family stories from publications, and possibly
most important, she and i chatted late Winter about all sorts of living
connections ..... I have pursued the California branch of the family and
found folks 15 miles down the road, and other folks 20 miles from my
brother in Oregon......

I'm not through because researching the ZOBEL family is a Christmas present
for my Aunt Loretta ....

But without Becci Thomas of Alliance, Nebraska I won't be anywhere near
where I am ..... In the mail to be mailed is a package of stuff as a small
token of the families apprciation - we went with a selection of Made in
Oregon stuff - salmon, filberts - known to the rest of the country as
hazelnuts- (Chocolate covered and a spread like peanut butter), and marion
berry jams ....
