Larry and Dick:

In searching for my Casons, I collected the following information on
Cashons. These three records are my abstracts from reading Rev. pension
applications. Let me know if you need Cashon marriages in Mecklenburg.

I. VA Burrell Cashon [S. 8,181] of Mecklenburg Co., NC aged 74 years
in 1833. Says he was born in Chesterfield Co., VA in 1758. He enlisted
in 1777; drafted in 1780. He lived in VA until 1800 and moved to
Mecklenburg Co., NC. He stated his record of birth is in the family
bible at home. Thomas Cashon, aged 75 years in 1833, swore to Burrell's
service. Their relationship is not stated. Thomas was a resident fo
Mecklenburg Co., NC. Burrell was pensioned as "Binwell
Cathon." No reference to a wife or children is given.

II. Thomas and Tabitha Cashon [W. 5,890], resident of Mecklenburg Co.,
NC, aged 75 years in 1833. Says he was born in Chesterfield Co., VA in
1758. His birth is in his bible. He enlisted under Thomas Covington and
Lieut. John Hill. He moved to Mecklenburg Co., NC in 1800. Burwell
Cashon appeared in court to swear to Thomas' service record. Tabitha,
widow of Thomas Cashon, aged 81 years in 1841, married Thomas Cashon 31
Dec 1780 in Chesterfield Co., VA. She signed with her mark. Thomas died
15 Dec 1834. Burwell Cashon swore in 1841 that he had attended the
marriage of Tabitha and Thomas and that they were neighbors with the
exceptions of one year. He says that Thomas and Tabitha came to
Mecklenburg Co., NC in 1801 and he [Burwell] had been there in 1800.
Tabitha Cashon died 12 Jun 1844. Surviving children in 1848:
Jaby Cashon
Levi Cashon
Peter Cashon
Thomas Cashon
In 1802 there were eight children. [all names not given]

III. VA David and Sarah Cashon/Cashin [R. 1782] of Wickley [Weakley?]
Co., West Tennessee, aged 74 years in 1832. He enlisted in Chesterfield
Co., VA in 1775 at the age of 18. He mentioned Burwell and Thomas Cashon
of Mecklenburg Co., NC. David swore he was born
13 Feb 1758 in Chesterfield Co., VA. He lived in VA 13 years after the
war, moved to NC, then moved to Weakley Co., TN in 1807 or 1827. He says
he has a brother in NC with record of his birth. David Cashon and Joel
Cashon mentioned in marriage bond of David Cashon and Sally Harvill (in
Iredell Co., NC 1813?). David Cashon/Cashin died 24 Jun 1835. Sarah
Cashon died in Weakley Co., TN 18 Oct 1851. Children:

Sarah stated that they married in Iadel Co., NC in 1788. David moved
from VA to Irdell Co., NC for five years, to Burke Co., NC for five
years, to Montgomery Co., TN in 1809 for six years, to Sumner Co., TN
until Jan 1825 and then to Weakley Co., TN
