Gladys 'Hill' Coffield
FARMINGTON - Mrs. Gladys Mae 'Hill' Coffield, 82, passed away July 10,
2006, at Farmington Presbyterian Manor. Gladys was born March 25, 1924, in
Delassus, and was the daughter of Alfred and Alta Mae 'Brown' Hill. Also
preceding were: One sister, in infancy and one brother, Henry A. Hill.
At the age of 15, Gladys obtained a Work Permit and became employed at
the Shirt Factory in Farmington. She worked there until she became a mother.
After the birth of her daughter, she became a caregiver of children and the
elderly. Gladys was a member of: * Farmington First Baptist Church and *
Farmington Eastern Star, Chapter #430.
Survivors include: one daughter, Janet 'Mrs. Kent' Lashley, of Bonne
Terre; one sister, Phyllis Wigger, of Farmington; one brother: William T.
(and Karon) Hill, of Channelview, Texas; one sister-in-law: Peggy Hill, of
Florissant, MO; three grandchildren: Jeffrey (and Danielle) Scott, of
Desloge; Jordan (and Kristi) Scott, of Desloge; Douglas Scott, of St. Louis.
Two step grandchildren: Lindsey and Lucas Lashley, of DeSoto, MO; nieces and
nephews: Marsha Moseley, of Farmington; Chris Wigger, of Farmington; Howard
(and Jane) Wigger, of Omaha, NE; Also, other special nieces; nephews;
cousins and friends.
Visitation Thursday, 6-9 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Service, Inc.,
Farmington. Visitation resumes Friday, 7 a.m., and funeral Friday, 10 a.m.,
July 14, 2006, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel, with Rev. Ed Rhodes
officiating. Interment follows in Doe Run Memorial Cemetery. Photo Obituary
