Susan:
I posted a will to the Berks Co WIlls board several week ago of Barbara
RITTER, a widow,of Albany Twp, who died in 1780s and mentioned her
granddaughter Elizabeth WAGNER. I have no idea which daughter was
married to a WAGNER. She mentions two who could have been married:
Catharina, former Catherina RITTER and Juliana, formerly Juliana RITTER!
No married names were shown in her will. But she had land (over Blue
Mountain) in Penn Twp, Northampton Co which she directed could not be
sold for 6 years although she lived in Albany, Berks Co. Other children
listed were Ferdinand, John, Jacob, Eva Rosina, Anna Mary, and
Elizabeth. Do you think her granddaughter ELizabeth WAGNER could
connect to your Wagners?

Also, I have been looking for information on George RITTER, of Exeter,
Berks Co, who died in 1761. I think his wife was Anna Maria UNK who
predeceased him. Children mentioned in his will were Henry, Francis,
ELizabeth REIS, Eva Rosina GERST(KERST). I note there was a Franz
RITTER mentioned in the Hx of the Moravian Church in 1741 as a member in
Oley. Is this Franz the Francis shown as his son? Do you have any
information on this line of RITTERs? I'm not sure how they connect to
Barbara RITTER, the widow of Albany. I have not been able to find who
her husband was. There is a private Ritter burial ground in Albany Twp.
with mention of a Henrich RITTER there.
(Epitaphs book)

I also have a copy of George RITTERs will of 1760 which I also posted
to the Berks Co Wills Board. He names John TEURCK and his son Henry
RITTER as co-executors. No mention of his wife, so she must have
predeceased him. There was also a John DeTURCK who was listed in the
Moravian Church in Oley in 1741. I presume this is the same person that
he named as Executor in his will. Son Henry RITTER died before the
estate papers could be settled. John DeTURCK declined to be executor and
George's daughter ELizabeth RITTER REIS renounced. That left Eva
Rosina GERST (widow of Johann KERST) to became administrator of George
RITTER's estate. Another son, Francis RITTER, owed money to the
deceased and was not considered for appointment as administrator.
Finally in 1763, Eva Rosina accounted for the estate of her father. Eva
ROSINA and Johann KERST are in one line of my direct ancestors. She was
dau of George RITTER and I would appreciate if you or anyone can shed
some information on these RITTERs.

In that same article 'Genealogical Data from the Moravian Church, Oley
Twp, there is mention of Johann Henric NEUKIERCH. I believe him to be
an ancestor as well. I have an Anna Maria NEUKIRCH who married George
MOHR on 9/27/1789 by Rev Boos. They were from Exeter in Berks Co. and
are my ancestors as well! Would any records at the Moravian Church show
who the father of Anna Maria NEUKIRCH was? Johann Henrich NEUKIRCH had
2 sons (half brothers) Henrich (born 1732 in Elberfield, Germany) and
John, a twin (born 2/271743). According to her death record at
Schwartzwald Church, Anna Maria (Mrs. George MOHR) was born 3/8/1770
and died or was buried 7/23/1804, of Robeson.

Other list of members of 1741 Oley Moravian Chuch included Abraham
Bartholet and Jan BARTHOLETH and wife and children. A granddaughter of
Abraham BERTHOLET, Esther Yoder BERTOLET, married a grandson of Johann
KERST(Jacob KERST of Union Twp). Jacob KERST and Esther Y BERTOLET are
my gr4grandparents!

If anyone has information on any of these families, I would love to
correspond with you. RITTER, KERST, NEUKIRCH, DETURCK, BERTOLET.
