October is Family History Month and the Library of Michigan and Archives
of Michigan would like to show our appreciation to our loyal users by
once again offering a series of FREE family history classes at the
Library of Michigan in Lansing. Sessions will range from "Beginning
Your Family History Research" to "Genealogy of a House". Classes have
been designed to appeal to beginners and more experienced researchers.=20
For more information or a complete list of sessions visit the Library's
web site at: www.michigan.gov/familyhistory or call (517) 373-1300.

Also... Don't miss the "21st Century Techniques for the Genealogist"
seminar. The Michigan Genealogical Council is offering a day long
seminar on Saturday, October 20. The fee is $25 with a lunch and $17.00
without. All registrants will receive a syllabus with handouts from all
of the seminar sessions. Pre-registration is required by Saturday, Oct.
6, so don't delay. A portion of the proceeds from the MGC's seminar
will go towards supporting the Library of Michigan's Abrams Foundation
Historical Collection. For additional information see the MGC's web
