You might find out what geographical area supplied traveling preachers for
Oregon. I believe there were conferences "back home" that took
responsibility for sending missionary-pastors to the frontier areas. so one
eastern area might be responsible for sending pastors to California and
another for sending pastors to Oregon.
(We're talking history here -- grin).

I am new to this list and am grateful to have found it! I would like more
information about Methodist circuit preachers, also. My gggrandfather came
to
Oregon from Virginia in the early 1890s to be a circuit preacher. I have
checked with the Methodist Church headquarters in New Jersey and they did
not
find him listed in any of the archived conferences. Does anyone else have
info about Methodist circuit preachers in Oregon?
