My dad used to by slab bacon and slice it thick. we never called it
anything but thick slice. It did make a good filler for biscuits.
Dad would butter as many biscuits as his plate would hold put in the
thick slice and gravy put the top back on pour sorghum over them
and fork em into his mouth while they were still hot. I tried a
small plateful but decided I would just rather have a thick slice
bacon sandwich but I did slice the biscuit open butter it, put jelly
ususally grape the bacon and the top half of the biscuits buttered
and peanut buttered. (old fashioned non sweeteeened and non oiled
peanut butter. HMHMHMHM
