I lived in southern CA for a great deal of my childhood life. Although I
never attended a Rose Parade, it was always a family tradition to watch it
New Year's morning with a continental breakfast. Such fun that was for both
my sis and I, and my parents, too, I suppose.

In the early 80's, my husband and I took our two daughters to the park where
the floats were parked the day after the parade. If gives you a chance to
see them up close, and a better chance to admire the handiwork that has gone
into them. Of course, the crowds are tremendous and the parking is
extremely limited. Neighbors will charge big $$ to park on their lawns and
driveways to go to the park. And traffic....well, you get the picture...
But everyone who wants to see it will think it is worth the trip at least
once.
