Crawford,

You report that .."you understand and very much sympathize, etc...." and
yet, your comments did not reflect sympathy and understanding. That was my
only point.
I understood your frustration and confess that many times I too grow
frustrated. This is a group of people with a wide variety of interests.
There is no doubt others that have periods of frustrations.
I suspect that if you or I experienced a problem opening a can, we would
wander out to the shop and devise a way to open the can or come up with some
small invention to get the job done.
I have not kept track of who, in the list, posted regarding the problem
but I suspect the majority of them are elderly women who live alone. I do
recall that some of the posts provided suggestions to assist opening the
cans
Other than old age and a natural loss of muscle, there are an untold
number of diseases that might prevent someone from opening a flip-top
aluminum can.
You relay that there is something in you that won't allow you to read or
hear something without questioning it. That is an excellent trait to have
and also one that I suffer from, thus, my "lecture." <grin>
No doubt, the morning you submitted your post, you were suffering
headaches and sinus problems, probably from the shroud of smoke from Walters
backyard that blanketed the hills and dales of Jawja. You do have my
sympathy.
I suggest that the next time you are frustrated, write to me off list
and I will either commiserate with you or, tell you that you are full of
beans and should go visit Walter.

Your friendly lecturer from
the Re-public of Texas.
Doug :-)
