The following was first published by me in a Nanaimo paper about 1989
"A Fallen Leaf", then I changed the title and edited a word or two.
It was published in England by the Forward Press group in Peterborough.

Little Green Leaves: By Brian Zelley

When the green leaf falls from the family tree.
those that remain shed tears of joy in the knowledge that
the virgin ground will be forever pure.

But alas, those that remain shed tears of sorrow,
there will be no tomorrow.
The green leaf will never turn a golden brown
after it has fallen down!
