Cooking use to be from scratch. I'm not sure when the first cake mixes came
out but I don't remember using them until I was older. The accomplishment of
cooking from scratch is very rewarding. My husband and I started from scratch
when we married. MY mom and dad gave us an old car and that was it. I
bought all of the necessities at Penny's white sale in January. Everything I owned
was in my car. My husband had saved some money and this helped us find our
first rental. We were very poor but so much in love. After a few months of
marriage we bought a small mobile home and we were so proud. It wasn't easy
making the payments but we struggled along. Sharon K.
