Diane, I recently switched from Windows ME to XP. I like it very much, but
I had finally to reformat the hard drive completely to get everything in
good order. With XP on a new computer, I would think it would be smooth
sailing from the start. Fixes for problems are available by downloading
from Microsoft. There is one security weakness, but the patch is available
and easy to take care of. Given the choice of ME and XP, I would take XP
every time. Walter
