List,
I found this baptism and I believe it came from St. Andrews Parish
records. but I do need to double check the source.
16 Oct 1778John Baptist Clark Philip
Norris, Eleanor Daft
of Thomas and Elizabeth
This Thomas Clark I had listed as the son of Robert Clarke Jr. and
Mary Wilkinson( not sure if that is where he belongs, but we know
that Robert Clarke Jr. and Mary Wilkinson had a son William Clarke
who married Mary Maryman- Mary Maryman had a sister Lydia Maryman who
married David Lindsay Ward. William Clarke had a brother Mathew
Clarke who married Lydia Hazel and they had a son Elijah Clarke- who
is Carol Wyatt's ancestor.
Carol Wyatt's notes)

Will of her sd husband, decd, & elected, in lieu thereof, her dower
of third part of the decd's estate, both real and personal.
(My note* this above Gray was also indexed Graves) (my note * there
is a Jeremiah Graves of Rev War

Jan 10, 1788 I, Moses Gray of CC, am sick and weak but of sound mind
and perfect memory. Firstly, I want all my just debts paid.
To my son Edward Gray, - all my lands.
To my daughters JANE CLARK, Darcos Scot, & Sarah Scot- 1 shilling each.
To my sons Anthony C. Gray & George Gray - 1 shilling each.
To my son Edward Gray - the rest of my personal estate.

Jeremiah Gray, Alexander Evans.
Probated by Geb 9, 1789 by the executor and by the oaths of
witnesses Joseph Gray & Jeremiah Gray.
Elijah Clark is listed in the Charles Co. MD Christ Church of Durham
Parish. which is at Ironsides in the 1797 record where he gave money
to the church
for repairs or rebuilding. The persons he is linked with Gray, Dunnington,
Evans, Lomax, are living in that area. I presume Elijah was at that time too
living around there too.
Now Elijah Clarke also had a son John Clarke and we don't know his
middle initial unless Carol Wyatt does.
Is the John B. Clarke listed below the cousin of Elijah Clarke? or
was it the son of Elijah Clarke?
Carol Wyatt shared this Document with me:
Name: David Lindsay WARD
Given Name: David Lindsay
Surname: Ward
Sex: M
Birth: Bef. 1747 in Port Tobacco, Charles, Maryland
Death: Abt. 1808 in Rowan County, North Carolina
Event: Military Service 1777 Private, Maryland Militia, 26th Battalion,
Capt. H. Garner's Co.
Note:
From Rowan County Abstracts and Estate Records 1753-1805 by Linn:
Found David Lindsey Ward (pg 90) was Executer on friend's will.
From Rowan County Abstracts and Estate Records 1805-1850 by Linn:
On page 10, G:113.
David Linny Ward. July 7, 1808. Probated 1808. Wife
Liddia. Son: Isaac. Daughters: Zorina (land bought of Joshuah N. Neely,
her paying Robert Cole and John B. Clark) and Sussanna (money paid to
John Prather). Children of my daughter Levina - note to Samuel Robinson.
Children of my daughter Elizabeth - land bought of Thomas Hughes, Samuel
Hughes, Timothy Hughes and Peter Fitch and his wife. Exrs: Wife Lidia
and John B. Clark. Wit: Charles Anderson, John Taylor, Levina Beggaly,
Joseph Beal.
What I'm trying to prove is who this John B. Clark was. Is he the
same as John Baptist Clark listed above who was the son of Thomas
Clarke and Elizabeth ?
Or is he the son of Elijah Clarke who also had a son named John Clark.
