There was a ROBERT McCRACKEN in I believe Orange County,Indiana ca. 1850. I believe he was born in North Carolina,too.

George M. McCracken (1841-1864) was the son of Thomas McCracken & Jane Mendenhall.

Thomas McCracken was the son of
Robert McCracken (b 6-25-1763, d 9-9-1831) & Martha Vestal (b 2-15-1770, d 6-20-1842), who were married 11-21-1792 at/near Cane Creek MM, NC.

Robert McCracken was the son of Alexander & Abigail McCracken of Orange Co NC.

Martha Vestal was the dau of David Vestal & Sarah Chamness.

David Vestal was the son of William & Elizabeth Vestal.
Sarah Chamness was the dau of Anthony & Sarah Chamness.

Jane Mendenhall was the dau of Nathan Mendenhall & Phebe Haworth.

Nathan Mendenhall (b 12-9-1776, d 10-17-1841) was son of George (d 1805) & Judith (d 1831) Mendenhall.
Phebe Haworth (b 3-22-1778, d 12-29-1851) was dau of Stephanus (d 4-18-1804, age 63) & Elizabeth Haworth.
