Steve,

I have Martha Jane Reddin listed as a child of Aquilla McCracken based on the following information. This is not proven, but then again, I cannot prove that any of the children are his children, just various facts that lead us to conclude they are his children.

1-"The History of Stephens County, Georgia" states "one signer of which was Equila McKrakin, probably the father of Martha Jane "Jennie" McCrackin wife of Isaac Reddin.
2- Martha Jane fits the census' of Aquilla McCracken for a daughter of her age.
3- Two of Aquilla's "sons" named a daughter Martha, another used Martha Jane.
4- In 1840, Reddick Redding was living next to Aquilla in Greene Co., AR
5- Isaac Reddin joined the military in Hickman Co., TN in 1814. We know that Aquilla was in Hickman Co., TN when he bought land in IL in 1817. Aquilla was in the area earlier, because his son Thomas stated that he was born in TN in 1815, the only one to state he was from TN that we have on record.

Much of the info on Isaac's family came from Robert Myers. I haven't been in touch with him for quite some time.
I would love to hear from you. Can you add anything to the above facts.

Also, although there is some indications that Aquilla's wife might be a Lane, I have never found enough to state that I believe that is her name. I would appreciate your sharing any information you might have on her name. Thanks

Larry
