I think you've got the wrong war. Revolutionary or of 1812 perhaps, but
James would have to be over 100, and I don't think that makes sense.
I'm looking for any information related to Samuel McCracken who married
Mary Jane Young in Feb 1769 in Rowan County, NC. He'd've been of an age
with these three Jameses.
Samuel has 3 children of whom I know, George, John, Margaret. My Ancestor
(George) was born in Carrabus Cty, NC in 1774 and died in Cherokee Cty, TX
in 1858.
Can anyone trace Samuel futher back?
