Replying to Pam Drake re Hearn's Crossroads, the name Hearn kept popping up in my Hastings searches - witnesses to wills , neighbors in censuses, marriages, etc. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I've seen Hearn's Crossroads on old maps as just that - a crossroads.

I've wondered why Wateman/Waitman Hastings chose to move to the Jay Co., e. central IN / w. central OH state line area when migrating from DE/MD. The Hearn name was found in Jay Co., IN, but disappeared. Wateman lived in Mercer Co., OH.

In what part of IN are you located? Margaret Hendrix - O.C. CA

Hi!My interest was peaked when Mr.Wooten mentionedHearn's Crossroads in a previous post. Is that thename of a town or what? My Hearn ancestors came fromSussex Co.,DE. in the 1700's.My 3xgreat-grandfatherwas Daniel Hearn born 1770.His parents were NehemiahHearn & Jaine Calloway.I believe now that Daniel Hearnhad two wives. The only one I know anout isElizabeth"Betsy"Wilson. I don't know who her parentsor siblings were yet.Daniel & "Betsy"Hearn migratedfrom Sussex Co.,DE. to Washington Co.,OH. by1810.Daniel Hearn had 15 children. His older childrenappear to be to old to be "Betsy"'s children also. Thanks for any information!Sincerely,Pam Drake in
