Ken ~ Not that I know of. My LDR ties are on my mother's paternal side. My Kearneys came through New York and then the Midwest.

To David Kearney,

Are you related to John Kearney, who used to work at the Continental
Insurance Co. in Baltimore, Md. about 1968-1969??

Eva,

The listing for Captain M. O. Lewis, which appears on page 117 of
This Was Chesapeake Bay, notes that Captain Lewis was the captain of the
Amanda F. Lewis, the last active commercial pungy to serve on the Bay.
The Lewis was built in 1884 by Joseph W. Brooks of Madison, Maryland.
The pungy's transom carried a carved likeness of the her namesake,
Captain Lewis' wife! When the transom was removed in 1939, it was
presented to the Smithsonian Institution.

The James H. Lewis also was one of the Bay's last active commercial
pungies, being abandoned in 1928. Page 117.

James M. Lewis, of Wingate, Maryland, was the captain of the Martha
Lewis, a working skipjack (oystering) launched in 1955, and built by
Bronza M. Parks, also of Wingate. Pages 144 & 146.

I hope these items are of interest.

Regards,
Dave Kearney
