Commenting further.

I wrote some comments to Rocky Rockefeller, and received two detailed
responses about the closing up on Saturdays (no budging), which I think is
the silliest item (just close the desk and have the several staff people
split their lunches - seems simple to me), the copiers and the costs of the
card system compared to the DE Archives honor system, esp. given the cranky
nature of the printers. Rocky did assure me that the problems that plagued
Judy and I on an early June weekend had been solved. My observation was to
free the staff from dealing with printers. None of us likes to deal with
multiple ruined copies at 50 cents a shot.

Bottomline is that I don't see any imagination or consideration given to
comments, even though they were solicited.

We will have to leave the letter writing with attempted clout to the MD
residents however. John Lyon certainly is a well-respected figure at the
Archives. If he can't twist the right arms, lots of luck for us
out-of-staters descended from Marylanders.
