I was taking my spelling from a direct quote, supplied to me by a Cousin (thank you, Mitchell). Obviously, in asking my question, I was at the mercy of whatever "Scribe" took down the testimony. Interesting spellers, those 17th Cent. folke.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who gave me information on what a pinnace (pinnass), really is and what it would look like. It is great to be able to visualize the craft. Best. Cathy
