Hello All. I have not posted to this list before but I have been
lurking this forum a few weeks and hope my initial entry keeps withinthe
approved structures. Please notify me (thru administrator) if I fail to
comply w/ guidelines. The branches I hoping for responses to all extend
back to LES (Lower Eastern Shore-=-Dorchester, MD and Accomac, VA).
A Tree is never finished, but at some point has to be released to
limited circulation for scrutiny. Therefore, I felt this forum as
appropriate for presentation to solicit initial responses and in hopes
of obtaining some source reference citings in replies to confirm or
refute my entries to date. I am unable at this time to do other than
internet site searches, any physical travel for obtaining copies of
source documentation must be delayed for several months. I hope by
then, I will have a good list of lookups compiled. Please accept the
following as an initial working paper. My 'references' are generally
from indexes to actual document files. I inherited a handdrawn Family
tree with direct lines of descent only (no siblings or side branches)
and no documentation--generally extending back to my 3rd great
grandparents. So far, I have found nothing on the net disproving these
entries. I have expanded this through internet searches and several
personnel contacts I have made. You may find something you can use.
Please keep this GED within the immediate group until I've been able to
get confirmations, clean the presentation and include appropriate
credits to all researchers for my 'official' released posting in a few
months.
'Nuf gab. Here it is, I am trying especially to confirm/disprove
ancestry as presented and to extend and expand my connections with the
following known LES surames: ADAMS, CANNON, FOXWELL, LAYTON, LEWIS,
NOCK, PAUL, and SIMMONS. Also, there is a lesser possibility of LES
connections thru: Roades, Stubbs and Wiley (I expect to extend the
known generations significantly when I get into the Stubbs archives
presently stored in Western MD in a few months). I have this relevant
