Parker -

Is it possible that the Robert Clarkson who married Priscilla Polk, widow of
William Polk (d.1727), was not the Robert Clarkson who married Phyllis
Cooper, widow of Matthew Cannon? Priscilla Polk is mentioned as wife of
Robert Clarkson in Wm Polk's inventory, 5 May 1727, (MD Prerog. Crt.
Inventories, Lbr 12, f.25), but in May 1729 she was listed simply as
Prisilla Polk (not Clarkson) in WP's probate account (MD Accounts, Lbr 9,
f.381). This tends to make me think that her 2nd husband Robert Clarkson had
died in the interim. The Robert Clarkson who married Phyllis Cooper Cannon
was married to her by 3 Aug 1727 (MD Accounts Lbr 8, f.326). He died in
1746, as your notes indicate, appointing Phyllis as his Executrix. It
doesn't seem that Robert Clarkson could have been married to Priscilla Polk
in May 1727 and to Phyllis Cooper in Aug 1727, if Priscilla Polk had not
died in the meantime.

In "Somerset Sampler", p.221, by Pauline Batchelder it indicates that
Priscilla Polk had outlived Robert Clarkson and married thirdly, Patrick
Quatermus. I have not found any primary source records to verify this.
