IRVING T. WINDSOR DIED MONDAY

County Detective,Former Federal Prohibition Agent and Justice of Peace,
Died Monday Morning at Hurlock After Short Illness.

County detective Irving T. Windsor, former federal prohibition agent,
and justice of the peace for Hurlock District, died Monday morning at
his home at Hurlock after a short illness. Judge Windsor became ill with
a heart ailment Saturday night and succumbed at 7 o'clock Monday
morning.

Saturday night Judge Windsor, who had been a county detective about two
months, left the jail here about 9:30 o'clock stating he did not feel
well. His condition became much worse Sunday.

When he was appointed by the County Commissioners to the post of county
detective, Judge Windsor resigned his commission as justice of the peace
for Hurlock district to take over his new duties. He was appointed
justice of the peace by former Governor Harry W. Nice, for a four year
term which would have expired in May, 1939.

Judge Windsor served with the federal prohibition force as an
enforcement agent for about six years, during which time he made an
excellent record. He was attached to the Eastern Shore division of the
federal agency which maintained headquarters at Salisbury, and took an
active part in enforcing the 18th amendment in this section.

Judge Windsor had been active for a great many years in politics and was
a life-long Republican. In the administration of his duties, both as a
prohibition agent and as justice of the peace, he had a reputation for
unimpeachable honest and devotion to his duty.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elsie Webster Windsor, three sons,
Emerson Windsor, Wilmington, Del., Dudley Windsor, Hurlock, and Kenneth
Windsor, a student at Goldey College, Wilmington. His mother Mrs. Fred
Eagon, Wilmington, Del., and a sister, Mrs. Bertie Harper, Wilmngton,
Del. also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon, at 2 o'clock,at Unity
M. P. Church, Hurlock, and will be conducted by the Rev. C. P. Butler,
pastor. The body will rest in the church from 10 A. M. until the
funeral. Interment will be in the East New Market Cemetery.
