I am curious as to how Hooper Island got it's name? Can you direct me to a place on the Internet or somewhere else that might have this information?

Hi, John

Although I saw it many times as a boy heading out into Tangier Sound, I
don't know where its name went. I haven't seen it since my Friend
Paul Volenik and his Dad George sailed through the straights ca. 1965
one 3am night, heading for Mt. Vernon with a sailboat someone had left
SSC in Oxford.

Perhaps someone on the Delmarva Roots list can enlighten us?

Clear skies,
Al
