I joined the list a couple of weeks ago and have been "lurking."
I am researching the MIDDLETON-DOWNING family from Sussex Co DE.
James Middleton b. 1750 d. 1798 Broadcreek Hundred Sussex Co.
mar. Mary Ann James b. 1754 d. 1797 Broadcreek Hundred.
NOTE-Zebedee James-possibly Mary's father or brother
Children-1. John Wesley Middleton b. 1777 Sussex Co
+Elizabeth Downing b. 1779 DE
NOTE-father of Elizabeth was John Downing, b. 1750.
2. William Middleton b. 1781
3. Betsy Elizabeth Middleton
+David Downing
4. Mary Polly Middleton b. 1785
5. James Middleton b. 1789
6. Somerset Middleton b. 1780
+Mary Downing b. 1770
NOTE-Middleton and Downing siblings that married were
all supposed to have been "first cousins"

I am searching for the parentage or any info. about James Middleton b.
1750. James served in the Revolutionary War.
Anyone suspect a connection?
