Subject: EDWARDS, CONNER, WHITLEY, JAMES, CAHOON
Date: Fri, 2 Jul 1999 12:08:20 EDT
Edwards family of Kent and New Castle Counties, Delaware:
James EDWARDS in his will of Aug 1774 (Kent Co., Delaware), left everything
to his two sons, Joshua and John EDWARDS. James appears to have no surviving
widow. Joshua is the elder son and is probably from his first wife, while
John is from his second wife. John is underage and is apprenticed to a
Benjamin Dawson, hatter.
Joshua died before 1795 apparently without issue, and John died before 1786,
leaving a wife Sarah who later married John CONNER. It is possible that John
was previously married to Jane ___?__ and had a daugher Tamer EDWARDS who
married Robert WHITLEY in New Castle County, Delaware in 1801.
>From other information there is the possiblity that James EDWARDS and his
first wife had two daughters as well: Tamer EDWARDS, who married Thomas JAMES
and Elizabeth EDWARDS who married Thomas CAHOON.
Any information about these elusive EDWARDS and Robert WHITLEY would be
appreciated.
Will share information of course.
