5. Deacon John Loomis, b. Co. Essex, England, 1622; m. Feb. 3, 1648-9. Elizabeth, b. 1625, d. May 7, 1696, dau. of Thomas and Ann Scott. (More in book) He died on Sept. 1, 1688. 13 children, #’s 21 – 33.
30. Deacon Samuel Loomis, b. Windsor, CT, Aug. 12, 1666; m. Elizabeth. B. Nov. 13, 1667, d. Feb. 18, 1736, dau. of Lieut. Daniel and Sarah (Crow) White, of Hatfield; m. 2nd, Oct. 25, 1738, Mrs. Elizabeth, b. Feb 9, 1673, d. Aug. 10, 1751, wid. Of Richard Church, who d. Apr. 1, 1730, and dau. of Thomas and Hannah (Warriner) Noble. He rem. To Colchester, CT in 1700, and was chosen first deac. Of first church, 1702; he d. May 20, 1754. 10 children all by first wife, #’s 145 - 154.
154. Daniel Loomis, b. Feb. 20, 1709; m. Oct. 7, 1731, Hannah Withrell (also spelled Wetherell), d. March 1, 1779, age. 76. He d. March 28, 1784. Colchester. 7 children, #’s 431 – 437.
433. Deac. Daniel Loomis, b. Coldchester, Ct., June 16, 1735; m. Feb. 25, 1756, Alice Chamberlain, d. July 11, 1807. He d. Richfield, Otsego Co., N.Y., Sept. 18, 1790. 11 children, all born Coldchester, #’s 1078 – 1088.
1082. Russell Loomis, b. Colchester, Ct., Sept. 1, 1763; m. 2nd? June 17, 1790, Lydia, b. May 16, 1770, d. April 3, 1835, age 65, dau. of Amos and Peace (Clark) Huntington. He d. Feb. 22, 1842. Shaftsbury, Vt., 7 children, #’s 2699 – 2705.

5856. Dr. Alfred Lebbeus Loomis, B. Bennington, Vt., Oct. 10, 1831; m. 1st, June 16, 1858, Sarah Jane Patterson, d. April 4, 1880; m. 2nd, Anne, dau. of Thomas H. Morris, of Baltimore, who after his death m. John D. Prince, and d. N.Y. City, March 23, 1904. He d. Jan. 23, 1895, N.Y.C. 2 children, b. NYC., #’s 9748 – 9749.
9748. Dr. Henry Patterson Loomis, b. N.Y.C., April 20, 1859; m. N.Y.C., Feb. 9, 1887, Julia J., b. Paterson, N.J., Nov. 10, 1861, dau. of Henry C. and Julia M. (Atterbury) Stimson. Grad. Princeton Coll., 1880. M. D., N.Y. University, 1883. Director Loomis Laboratory since 1888. (this Laboratory is the Loomis Sanitorium in Liberty, N.Y. which was founded by his father). Pathologist N.Y. Health Department since 1888. V. Pres. N.Y. Hospital, and Gouverneur Hospital, N.Y. Pathological Society. He stood 1st in a class of 500, in N.Y. University Medical Department at graduation. Studied in Berlin, Germany, with Prof. Koch. “He has the most lucrative practice in N.Y., and is rated as a millionaire many times over.” A specialist in pulmonary and heart disease cases. He d. N.Y.C., Dec. 22, 1907. N.Y.C. where b. his 3 children, #’s 12100 – 12102.
