Linda, Emmalena is on Troublesome Creek. Vicco is on Carr Creek. There is
a mountain between the two creeks. Going on down Troublesome is Fisty,
Ky. This is where all the Samuel (Fisty) Combs clan lived. Also some of
the Ritchies. John's clan settled at White Oak, which is around Vicco.
Going on down Carr there is the rest of his kids settling at Jeff, and on
into Hazard. Going down Troublesome from Hindman, there is Smithboro,
Sassafras, Vicco, Jeff, and on to Hazard. You can get to Hazard from
Hindman by going down both Troublesome and Carr Creek. The Jerry's settled
down Carr Creek.
I don't know for sure where Long Jerry lived. I thought he was around
Emmalena.Should be able to tell by the location of the census, don't you
think?
The Perry County line lies between Sassafras and Vicco, I THINK.
