Hi ,
The surname that still gives me problems is guess what?1 My good old
Adkins line! The Adkins line on my mother's side are all accounted for
and bless their hearts by keeping it all in the family by marrying their
cousins! It sure made tracing the family tree interesting to say the
least. Here is my problem Adkins. They are on my father's side and are
of no relation to my Mother's side. My ggg-grandfather was Peter Adkins
born 1853 in Cabel Co. West Virginia. He married Maude Della Arthur, d/o
Thomas Arthur. Peter's father as we learned from his death certificate
was John Adkins who married Susan Bates in Lawrence Co., Oh. We come to
a dead stop there. Some say his father's name was William, but can not
find an proof. These Adkins were very tall in stature unlike my mother's
who were short. Can anyone help with this line of Adkins and Bates,
since we don't know of Susan's parent's either?
